About Oren Cohen

The Person Behind the Perspective

I’m Oren Cohen. I’m a 38-year-old software engineer from Israel, and this site is my personal home on the web.

By day, I build and maintain complex backend systems, working with technologies like Python, FastAPI, and Kubernetes. By night, I apply that same engineering mindset to the stories and systems that define nerd culture—from the logic of Stargate to the world-building of the Stormlight Archive.

The Strategy: High-Signal, No Fluff

I don’t believe in shallow clickbait or "content for the sake of content." I value Signal over Noise.

Because I work in a corporate environment during the day, I’ve realized that the only way to build something sustainable is to do it at my own pace. I’ve retired the "content schedule" in favor of long-term authority and authenticity. I write when I have a strategic or analytical point to make, ensuring that every post is a high-quality asset rather than a temporary update.

The Project: The Archive

While this site is my personal brand, its current focus is a project I call The Archive.

The Archive is my way of documenting and preserving the "data" of the media that matters. I don't just "review" shows or games; I document them as systems.

  • Logical Analysis: I look at the internal consistency of sci-fi tech and narrative world-building.
  • Emotional Delta: I record the resonance of stories—like the works of Studio Ghibli—and how they hit differently at 38 compared to 20.
  • Preservation: This is a living record of my journeys through TV, film, literature, and gaming, built to last.

Why You’re Here

If you appreciate a strategic, analytical, and practical approach to nerd culture, you’re in the right place. I’m building a community of like-minded nerds who care about the "how" and "why" behind the stories we love.

I’m glad you’re here to witness the collection grow.
