Welcome to Friday Dispatch, this is the first issue of this newsletter, and it’s still an experiment. So feel free to provide any feedback.

What’s Been Going On?

This was the climax of the Jewish Holiday season. The high holidays are behind me. We will celebrate Sukkot - the next holiday in line tonight. Thankfully, it’s only one night with my entire family with (hopefully) no external guests - so fewer awkward questions. We’ll still be 13 people, but six of them are kids.

This week, I also prepared for vacation at work. It felt very satisfying to clock out at 19:00 yesterday, knowing I completed everything I needed to do, and next week, I’m on holiday vacation for the entire week.

This week, I also closed down Nerdy Modern Blog. During its ten months of operation, it got about 10k views, which is nice. But As I wrote in my last post, I’m moving towards a personal brand instead of a business one. I didn’t just import the posts and close the site. Instead, I utilized Ghost’s redirect feature and let any search bots know that the posts were permanently moved to this publication. It took a while, but I saved some time thanks to Copilot and ensured all posts on NMB redirect to this Substack publication.

Those are the main highlights for this week aside from bringing back this Substack to life. As a reminder, this newsletter is the only email you will get in your inbox. All other posts will be published without an email notification.

Let’s Talk Potential Goals

In my time online, I learned it’s unwise to promise something to the public and not follow through. So, while I’m not promising anything here, I want to share some thoughts I’ve been having.

• I’m thinking about making a course in the programming realm. My free course on Gumroad got about 100 participants, which is wild. Maybe I can leverage that into a paid course.

• I’m working with an editor to edit my book How to Interview Your Favorite Creators. This is happening, it’s not potentially happening ;)

• I’m considering doing Starfield-related YouTube videos, as I’ve been working on that game for a long time (I just crossed 80 hours yesterday).

Published This Week

This week, I published the entire catalog of posts from Nerdy Modern Blog. It’s a lot of posts about Worlds Beyond Number and Dimension 20. I’m still parsing them, as some didn’t import correctly, and I need to remove some irrelevant CTAs.
